About Me: Military Background
My military foundation goes all the way back to a retired Colonel grandfather and two uncles who all flew aircraft for the US Air Force. While influential, my decision to serve in the Air Force came after forging my own patriotic path as a Boy Scout, earning the rank of Eagle Scout and serving in my church and community.
I attended the US Air Force Academy, graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in applied physics. I retired from military service in June 2023 as a Colonel after 32 years of service.
While in uniform I served as an operations research analyst and led a variety of analyses for the Air Force. These analyses included risk assessments, prioritizations (to support budget decisions), and wargaming. All of these analytical approaches—even wargaming—can be applied to city government.
I still serve the Air Force as a full-time civilian at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, continually leveraging my years of experience to influence key senior decisions and mentor the next generation of analysts.
